The only good thing about working on something that’s been previously translated is that it doesn’t get me stressed up by possibility of a snipe.

By the end of the week, either AHAN or Koshitsuki. We also know about the tank raws being out, but I did it before those showed up, so I didn’t feel like re-editing it now.

request payment in full before starting? unless you just feel bad that someone beat you to it?
Honestly, youve been doing this long enough where people shouldnt have an issue with paying you the full amount in advance.(if this is indeed the issue with being sniped).

Happened a few days ago – a translator I'd never heard of did Ch 7 of the Quizilax tank and suggested they were going to do more.
I mentioned that Biribiri was already doing the whole thing, with links to the donor project page and what had already been posted to exhentai.
Well, dunno about others, but I don't really enjoy doing monkey job. The other thing is, that often I already have it done(i.e. it's in QC, which takes time), when somebody comes and releases their version before me. Obviously second version of translation doesn't have that much of attention. And well, when I work on commission, it doesn't feel good, when I am not fast enough with releasing a translation.

Sniping is really common, especially amongst smaller groups who don't necessarily keep track of what other groups are translating. Biri and several other translation groups communicate to make sure no one steps on anyone else's toes.
Is that really a big problem among translation groups? I suppose it must be, if it caused FUKE to close up shop out of frustration.
